I love seeing my family come together and since having my son come into our life all gatherings seem to have a focus on him! I absolutely love that he is so loved by so many people. When he was first born I don’t think my husband nor I could actually believe that we had a baby boy!!

FIRST BIRTHDAY BANNER

You know those cute little onsie monthly stickers used for at home photo shoots to display your baby’s monthly age? Well I didn’t get around to finish them before he decided he would grace us with his presence approximately 6 weeks early.  My husband and I opted to keep track of each month with a birthday cake! That’s right, for the first year of Mason’s life we celebrated with a small cake that displayed his monthly “age.” You see, being a parent is hard work and of course Mason’s couldn’t eat the cake, so it was an obvious for us… treat ourselves to cake each month!

The tradition continued after the first year, but with a different spin! We now celebrate half birthdays with half the cake!  And Mason’s yearly birthday is celebrated with a full size cake  to share with his friends and family!

Our latest half cake was for the Basketball “Half”time Birthday Party made by Chickadee Hill Cake! I love how this turned out!!!!

I have been so fortunate to be able to work with Chickadee Hill Cakes from Sandown, NH! Never did they question my request for half a cake!  Since working with them on a couple of projects I have grown to trust them in taking their own creative spin on our projects. If you know me you know that I can rarely let go in planning situation. They have never failed me and I recommend them to everyone I know. You have to check them out on their Website | Facebook | Instagram!

Do you have any cake traditions or birthday traditions you would like to share? If so email us at [email protected]! We would love to hear from you.

What can I say,  we love cake!
