Basketbal Vendor Spotlight: Party Supplies to Cookies!

If you missed yesterday’s post where I shared a first look at the Basketball Halftime “Half” Birthday Party take a peek then come back to read today’s post.  Today I’m spotlighting two amazing women who I had the pleasure of working with while planning the Basketball Half Time “Half” Birthday Party.  I have to admit I felt a bit silly approaching vendors for my half birthday party, because it’s not something you see on the regular (but if you know me I typically side with different). Kima’s Konfection and Hoopla Events were both so sweet to work with.  I think both calmed my OCD tendencies a couple times. Krista O’Bryne is the owner and event planner at Hoopla Events, an event design business out of Olympia, WA. She throws the most amazing parties! What I love about her she is just not a party planner, but she also helps those who are throwing parties with their party décor needs. I new I needed baking cups and I wanted navy striped. I was surprised I couldn’t find them easily accessible. Krista had them and she shipped so quickly. What I love about these cups is that you can use them for so many things. I opted not to bake in them, but instead to fill them with Jelly Belly jelly beans (my favorite). I love how they displayed on the table; so simple, but a fantastic pop of décor and practical for little hands to hold onto.

My next spotlight is Hakima Lamour. She is the owner and baker at Kima’s Konfection, a premier custom cake boutique offering a whole bunch of goodies!! Her work is among the very best in the party world, so I was so happy to be able to work with her. I still can’t believe she hand cut each letterman jacket and was able to achieve a navy color!  I’ve been told navy is a hard color to achieve; she nailed it!  I used the letterman jackets at the center of the dessert table on top of orange M&Ms for extra detail.  She also made chocolate covered Oreos that were so so good!! I love that they were not a full basketball design, but included the basketball design on the top detailed with the M monogram as well as tying in the navy on the base of the Oreos.
